Tips For Organizing A Banquet Hall For A Wedding

If you are planning on having a wedding and holding it in a banquet hall, you are going to need to provide the banquet hall staff an idea of how you want the hall to be set up. How your hall is arranged could impact how enjoyable your wedding is for both your wedding party as well as your guests. Here are some tips for setting up your banquet hall as attractively as possible.

1. Keep Snacks and the Meal Tables Separate

It can be tempting to use the same tables that you use for the snacks for the main course as well. The problem is that the snacks are likely going to be left out throughout the reception whereas the banquet food is eventually going to be cleared away or ignored. If you want to make sure that there is enough room in your hall for dancing or for people to walk around easily and mingle, you will need to keep the food and the snacks separated.

Put the snack table on the side of the room closest to the door where people are going to enter and exit the banquet hall in case they want to take any of the snacks with them and put the tables with the food near a door that leads to the catering area. This will allow the caterers to have easy access to the food tables to keep them replenished.

2. Make Sure That There's Enough Space to Walk

When you are deciding how many tables you want across the hall, you need to take into account how easy it is going to be to walk down the aisles separating the tables. To do this, set up two tables next to each other and pull the chairs on the aisle for both tables halfway out in order to simulate people sitting in them. You want to be sure that there is at least a few feet of space between the chairs halfway pulled out in order to make sure that both the catering staff and the guests can easily move around.

3. Set Up Two Bars

If you are going to have a huge wedding with two sets of tables on either ends of the hall with a dance floor in the middle, make sure that you set up two bars. This will allow people to get their drinks without worrying about having to traverse the dance floor and will help encourage people to drink enough to have a good time.
